About Us
Established in 2020
The necessity to establish the Institute is borne-out by the failure of the South African Government to recognise workplace bullying as an occupational health hazard.
- Support:
- To assist organisations in putting in place effective policies that promote an anti-bullying stance in the workplace as well as mechanisms to deal decisively with instances of workplace bullying
- To help Organised Labour define ways in which they can better protect their members against workplace bullies
- To offer support to targets of workplace bullying in exploring the options available to them, and how they might constructively challenge bully behaviours when they occur
- Training activities:
- To develop a toolkit of shared resources to upskill managers with essential management practices founded on respect for human and worker rights.
- To provide training materials to empower witnesses to, and bystanders of workplace bullying to intervene constructively.
- Advocacy:
- To lobby the South African Government to put in place legislation that will criminalise acts of bullying in the workplace.
